FOOD & FUND DRIVES

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (F.A.Q.)

Can I hold a Food & Fund Drive to benefit Food Lifeline if I live outside the greater Seattle area?

Absolutely!  We can work with you to find one of our member food banks in your local community where you can drop off your collected food.  Financial donations can be made to Food Lifeline via mail or our secure website.

My Food & Fund Drive has collected more food that I am able to transport in my vehicle.  What should I do?

We can make trucks available to transport food donations over 500 pounds (the equivalent of a filled SUV or pickup truck). Pickups need to be scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance (allow 2 weeks between October and December).

If I want to collect just food, not funds (or vice versa) can I still coordinate a drive to benefit Food Lifeline?

Of course – you are welcome to select the specific elements of Food Lifeline’s Food & Fund Drive program that best meet your needs and situation.  Stay in touch with us and we’ll help you find the most successful and efficient ways to meet your goals.

What kinds of items do you have the greatest need for?

Non-perishable, shelf stable food items that are high in protein; canned fruits and vegetables; infant formula and baby food (in plastic tubs only please); personal care items. Here is our list of Suggested Donations (.pdf document).

Where can I drop-off my food and fund donations?

Donations are accepted at our Shoreline Repack Center located at 1702 NE 150th Street, Shoreline, WA 98155 between 9:00am and 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. For significant food donations, please call us at 206-545-6600 to confirm your drop-off time.
