FORMER AMERICAN IDOL FINALISTS "GIVE BACK" AROUND COUNTRY TO SUPPORT "IDOL GIVES BACK" INITIATIVE

Former AMERICAN IDOL finalist Blake Lewis (Season 6) will be volunteering his time at Food Lifeline, a Feeding America network member. Feeding America is one of the beneficiaries of IDOL GIVES BACK which airs Wednesday, April 21 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.

KEURIG DONATES $10K TO FOOD LIFELINE

Rainy weather, delays and cancelled ferries - unfortunately, many Seattleites experience a less than perfect commute. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the average commute in the Seattle Metro Area is 27.7 minutes. To help Seattleites improve their less than perfect morning commutes, Keurig will serve free freshly-brewed gourmet coffee.

MACY'S AND LOCAL MEMBER OF FEEDING AMERICA, FOOD LIFELINE, PARTNER FOR NATIONAL "COME TOGETHER" CAMPAIGN IN SUPPORT OF ENDING HUNGER

Food Lifeline, the largest hunger relief organization in Washington and local Feeding America member, and Macy’s, partnered for the "Come Together" campaign this fall. An innovative and meaningful new effort, the "Come Together" campaign celebrates the Renaissance of cooking at home with a goal of raising 10 million meals for domestic hunger.

CHEF TOM DOUGLAS AND LOCAL MACY’S EMPLOYEES VOLUNTEER AT FOOD LIFELINE’S SHORELINE REPACK CENTER

Food Lifeline will host a group volunteer day in support of Macy’s “Come Together” Campaign with Board Member and Celebrity Chef, Tom Douglas, and local Macy’s employees at its Shoreline Repack Center.  Volunteers will help sort, label and repack food for distribution to Food Lifeline’s 300 member food banks, meal programs and shelters in Western Washington.

LOCAL SEATTLE HUNGER RELIEF ORGANIZATION RECEIVES 4,000 POUNDS OF PORK FOR LOCAL FAMILIES IN NEED

America’s pork producers have officially been encouraging families to enjoy meals together for the last 14 years. Whether it’s dinner, breakfast or a weekend brunch, National Eat Together Week (recently celebrated on September 20-26, 2009), encourages families to eat together WHENEVER they can.

Pearl Jam Lends a Hand to Food Lifeline

Food Lifeline announced today that Pearl Jam’s Vitalogy Foundation will donate $1.00 from every ticket sold to Pearl Jam’s two hometown concerts in Seattle to Food Lifeline. Joining Pearl Jam in this fundraising effort will be retail partner Target, who will match the donation dollar-for-dollar, bringing the total to more than $40,000.

Paint the Town Orange: Food Lifeline Leads Seattle Awareness Campaign for Hunger Action Month

Food Lifeline, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger in Western Washington and local affiliate of Feeding America, will “Paint the Town Orange” for the month of September in support of Hunger Action Month, a nationwide initiative to help educate America's communities about the impact of hunger and encourage them to take action.

Feeding America Releases Child Hunger Impact Study

The direct and indirect effect of child hunger in the U.S. is a contributing factor to the nation’s economic woes and puts America at a competitive disadvantage, according to a new report issued today by Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization.

Concert to Benefit Food Lifeline

Beginning on April 8th in Asheville, North Carolina, non-profit organization, Rock for a Remedy, Inc. (RFAR), will partner with iconic rock duo, Indigo Girls, in an effort to help eradicate the hunger crisis in the United States. On July 26th, the group will be at the Woodland Park Zoo where the concert will benefit local hunger relief organization, Food Lifeline.

One-Day Food Drive Breaks Records in King County
Postal customers in King County broke records as they donated more than 890,750 pounds of food to Food Lifeline during the 17th Annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive with the National Association of Letter Carriers on May 9th.

Food Lifeline, the largest hunger relief organization in Washington State, is the recipient of two highly-coveted, national awards from Feeding America. Food Lifeline received awards for Model Food Sourcing Program of the Year and Model Fundraising Program of the Year.

Food Lifeline Presents 2009 Agency Excellence Awards
Food Lifeline presented its Agency Excellence Awards to four of its local member agencies at its annual Agency Conference on Monday, March 23. Winners received a $5,000 grant to continue expanding their missions and to increase and better their capabilities to serve hungry people in their communities.
